Run your site in more than one language

Link each page to its translations, give every language its own URL folder, and get hreflang, canonical and sitemap alternates written for you.
Run your site in more than one language

You sell the same supplement in the US and in Romania. The Romanian sales page sits at its own address with nothing tying it to the English one, so Google can show the English page to a searcher in Bucharest, and a Romanian visitor who lands on it has no way across.

The enemy is a translation that search engines and visitors cannot tell is a translation.

Every page now has a Language tab in its settings. Set the language it is written in, pick another one under Add translation in, and ElasticFunnels makes a draft copy at a proposed URL such as ro/your-slug, linked to the original. The Translations panel lists every version. When the original's text changes, a translation shows Out of date until you update it and click Mark up to date.

Once two or more linked versions are published, each one gets reciprocal hreflang links, an x-default and a self canonical, and sitemap.xml lists the same alternates. Each language can have its own URL prefix, and Serve pages under language folders also serves a page built on brand texts at /ro/about, /es/about and so on. Components follow the page too: a Romanian page uses the Romanian translation of your header when you have made one.

Language suggestion offers visitors the page in their own language, with a built-in prompt or with your own markup. It never redirects anyone, bots never see it, and the visitor's choice is remembered. One small change on the same screen: the Texts list now opens on All languages, with a Language column.

Try it: open Pages, Advanced, Translations and add your languages. Then open a page's settings, go to the Language tab, set Page language, choose a language under Add translation in and click Add translation.
