What the PayPal integration does
PayPal takes the payment. ElasticFunnels creates and captures the PayPal order, saves the PayPal wallet of the buyer in the PayPal vault, and charges it again for upsells and renewals.

How to connect PayPal
When you save the merchant, ElasticFunnels sets up the PayPal webhooks and checks that your PayPal app can save buyer wallets.
Create a PayPal app
In the PayPal developer dashboard, create a REST app and copy the client ID and secret for live and for sandbox.
Add a PayPal merchant
In Settings → Merchants, click Add Merchant, pick PayPal and paste both sets of credentials.
Show the PayPal tab
Set data-paypal on the checkout card panel to the PayPal merchant. PayPal sits next to the card merchant of the domain, such as Stripe or NMI.
Place a test order
Buy in sandbox mode, take an upsell, then refund it to see the refund land on the order.

Can I offer PayPal next to card payments?
Yes. PayPal can show as a tab in the checkout card panel, next to card fields from your Stripe or NMI merchant. It always runs next to a card merchant: a domain or funnel cannot use PayPal as its only merchant.
Do one-click upsells work with PayPal?
Yes, when the PayPal wallet of the buyer was saved on the first order. ElasticFunnels saves it by default. If there is no saved wallet, the buyer approves the upsell on PayPal instead.
Can I sell subscriptions through PayPal?
Yes. ElasticFunnels charges each renewal on the saved PayPal wallet with no buyer step. Your PayPal app must be allowed to save wallets, and ElasticFunnels checks that when you save the merchant.
Do PayPal refunds and disputes show up in ElasticFunnels?
Yes. Refunds you issue from ElasticFunnels go to PayPal in full or in part. Refunds, reversals and disputes raised on the PayPal side come back by webhook, and reversals and disputes count as chargebacks in reports.
What does ElasticFunnels charge on PayPal payments?
A 0.5% processing fee on revenue that runs through gateways ElasticFunnels operates, PayPal included. PayPal bills its own fees separately.
