How to connect OpenAI
Bind a folder
Install the ef CLI and run ef init in an empty folder. You sign in through your browser.
Open Codex
Start Codex in that folder. It reads the ElasticFunnels rules from AGENTS.md.
Or use ChatGPT Desktop
Add ef mcp --project with the folder path as an MCP server in ChatGPT Desktop.

Pages from a prompt
Codex writes the .ef page files and publishes them with ef push.
Whole brand in the folder
ef pull syncs pages, components, scripts, assets and brand variables for Codex to read.

OpenAI integration FAQ
Do I paste an OpenAI API key into ElasticFunnels?
No. There is no OpenAI key field. Codex and ChatGPT Desktop run on your own OpenAI account and reach ElasticFunnels through the ef CLI, which signs in to your brand.
Do ElasticFunnels AI features use OpenAI?
Not by default. Built-in AI features run on ElasticFunnels model keys and draw from your AI credits, with Claude as the default model in the app.
Does it work with ChatGPT Desktop?
Yes. Run ef mcp and add it as an MCP server. ChatGPT Desktop can then list, read, create and edit pages, read components and products, and get preview links.
Can Codex publish pages by itself?
Codex runs ef push, which publishes the page to your brand. Review its changes before you let it push.
