Airwallex integration for ElasticFunnels
Airwallex gives online sellers multi-currency accounts and card acceptance on one platform, which is why brands selling across borders pick it. Connect it, and the buyer types the card into the Airwallex Card Element on a checkout you design in ElasticFunnels.

What the Airwallex integration does
Airwallex works intent first. ElasticFunnels creates a payment intent for the order total, including any order bump, the Card Element authorizes it in the browser, and the server checks the amount against its own total before it captures.
- If the bank asks for 3D Secure on the checkout, the challenge opens inside the Airwallex frame
- The first payment saves a payment consent at Airwallex, used for one-click upsells and renewals
- ElasticFunnels never captures less than the order total: a mismatch cancels the authorization
- Refund in full or in part from ElasticFunnels, and refunds or disputes raised in Airwallex come back by webhook

How to connect Airwallex
Airwallex has no API for creating webhooks, so you add the ElasticFunnels webhook URL in Airwallex by hand once per merchant.
Copy your API keys
In the Airwallex web app, open Developer → API keys and copy the Client ID and the API key. Sandbox accounts have their own pair.
Add Airwallex under Merchants
In Settings → Merchants, click Add Merchant, pick Airwallex and paste the Client ID and API key. ElasticFunnels signs in to Airwallex with them before it saves.
Add the webhook
Copy the webhook URL from the saved merchant into Developer → Webhooks in Airwallex, select refund.accepted and payment_dispute.requires_response, then paste the webhook secret back.
Pick it on your checkout
Set the merchant on your checkout domain or funnel and pay with an Airwallex sandbox test card.

Airwallex integration FAQ
How does Airwallex work on an ElasticFunnels checkout?
ElasticFunnels creates an Airwallex payment intent for the order, the buyer confirms it in the Card Element, and the server re-reads the intent and captures the order total. The card number and CVC stay with Airwallex.
Which Airwallex credentials do I need?
The Client ID and an API key from Developer, API keys. The webhook secret comes from the webhook you add in Airwallex. The API version field is optional; left empty, your account default is used.
Does 3D Secure work with Airwallex?
On the checkout, yes: when the bank asks for it, the challenge opens in the Airwallex frame before the payment goes through. Upsell and renewal charges happen without the buyer, so a bank that demands 3D Secure on one of those declines it.
Do one-click upsells and renewals work with Airwallex?
Yes. The first payment stores a merchant-initiated payment consent at Airwallex, and ElasticFunnels charges upsells and subscription renewals to it without asking for the card again.
Do Airwallex refunds and disputes reach ElasticFunnels?
Once the webhook is set up, yes. ElasticFunnels checks the signature and the timestamp on each event, adds refunds made in Airwallex to the order and records disputes as chargebacks.
Can buyers pay with Apple Pay or Google Pay through Airwallex?
The Airwallex connection takes cards. For wallets, run a Stripe or NMI merchant on that checkout.
What does ElasticFunnels charge on Airwallex payments?
A 0.5% processing fee on revenue that runs through gateways ElasticFunnels operates, Airwallex included. Airwallex bills its own fees separately.
