ClickBank is still worth it in 2026 if you sell a digital product or a supplement and want affiliates to do the selling. It is the retailer of record, so it takes the payment, handles refunds and buyer support, and pays you and your affiliates, for 7.5% + $1 a sale and a one-time $49.95 activation.
The trade is control. The buyer's card and the order form belong to ClickBank, your first payout waits for five qualifying sales, and each payment it sends costs $5. If you want the affiliate marketplace and no back office, that trade usually pays.
This ClickBank review is for vendors deciding whether to sell through it. We make ElasticFunnels, which supports ClickBank as a merchant, so every ClickBank fact below comes from ClickBank's own help center, opened on 20 October 2026. If a CLKBANK*COM charge on your card brought you here, skip to what buyers see.

ClickBank fees
ClickBank's help center puts it plainly: ClickBank "purchases the product from the seller at 92.5% of sale price + $1". The difference is its fee, and the affiliate's commission comes out of what is left.

| ClickBank charge | Amount |
|---|---|
| Each sale | 7.5% + $1 |
| Each Klarna sale | 9.8% + $1.30 |
| Subscription rebills under $40 | ClickBank buys at 90.1% of retail |
| Activation | $49.95 once, or $29.95 for an extra account |
| Each payment to you | $5, and $45 for a wire |
| Each refund | $0.50 or $1 |
| Each chargeback | A fee set by your account's chargeback rate |
Source: What are ClickBank's fees?. The flat $1 is the line to watch on cheap front ends. On a $37 product it adds 2.7 points to the 7.5%, and on a $7 trial it eats a seventh of the sale. Higher-priced bundles barely feel it.
When ClickBank pays you
- The schedule. Pay periods close on Wednesday at midnight Pacific time, and payments go out on the Friday after. The default is every two weeks; direct deposit and wire accounts can switch to weekly.
- The threshold. No payment is sent until your balance passes your payment threshold, 100 dollars unless you change it in your settings.
- The first payout. ClickBank holds a new account's balance until it shows five qualifying sales: from five different customers, each more than two weeks old, paid with more than one payment method.
- The cost. Each payment costs $5, and a wire costs $45. Weekly payouts mean twice as many $5 fees.

Getting a product approved
Only ClickBank's Compliance team can approve a product, and it reviews every one before it sells. ClickBank says results usually arrive within 3 to 5 business days. To submit, you need:
- Your own domain. ClickBank doesn't host pages and doesn't support subdomains.
- A pitch page that follows its product and promotion guidelines, and a thank-you page with your contact details.
- A payment link, added to the pitch page and tested.
- A Certificate of Insurance, plus any legal documents and rights your product needs.
- The $49.95 activation charge, paid when the first product is approved.
Source: How do I get started as a ClickBank Seller?. Plan for the review. A new presell or a changed claim on the pitch page can mean another round with Compliance, so test page versions in front of the approved pitch page where you can.
Refunds and chargebacks
Buyers get 60 days to ask for a refund by default. You can set 30 to 90 days per product, ask support for up to 364 days, and PayPal purchases get 180 days. A new period applies to new sales only (ClickBank, flexible refunds).
Chargebacks cost more than refunds, and the fee rises with your chargeback rate. ClickBank's own advice is to set a clear descriptor: up to 14 characters after CLKBANK*, so the buyer recognizes the product on the statement. Tell buyers what they will see on the thank-you page too.
Affiliates and the marketplace
The marketplace is why most vendors pick ClickBank. Affiliates find your product there and promote it with a hop link, and ClickBank says most offers can be promoted at once, without an approval step on your side. You set the commission, and ClickBank pays it from each sale.
Affiliates track their own campaigns with a tid on the hop link, and ClickBank's postbacks pass it back with fields like {tid} and {affiliate_earnings}. That is how affiliates who buy traffic see which ad sold.
Order form, upsells and INS
ClickBank hosts the order form. After it, a Pitch Flow runs the upsell sequence: the list of products and the upsell and decline pages in order, with the upsell charged to the card from the first order. The sales page and every upsell page are pages you build and host.
Each sale reaches your server as an INS notification, encrypted with your account's secret key, for sales, rebills, refunds, chargebacks and cancellations.
If you're a buyer: a CLKBANK*COM charge
Many searches for a ClickBank review come from people who see CLKBANK*COM on a card statement. ClickBank sells products for many independent vendors and is the retailer on each sale, so its name appears on the charge, sometimes followed by a short product name.
- To find the order, use the order lookup at clkbank.com with the email you bought with or the last digits of the card. It shows the product and the vendor's contact details.
- To ask for a refund, request it from the same order page inside the refund period. After that, the vendor's own contact details are the way to ask.
- To cancel a subscription, use the same order lookup, which offers a cancellation as well as a refund.
The best funnel builder for ClickBank vendors
ClickBank runs the order form and the money. The pages in front of it, and knowing which of them sold, are yours. That is the job of a funnel builder for ClickBank, and here is what ElasticFunnels does with ClickBank added as a merchant:
- Buy links from tags. A
[BUY=]tag on a page turns into the ClickBank checkout link for the product you mapped, and the Pitch Flow ID sits on the funnel. - Every INS on its click. Sales, rebills, refunds, chargebacks, cancelled rebills and abandoned orders are decrypted with your key and land on the ad, page and variant that sent the buyer. Buyer details go into Customers.
- Split tests of up to 5 variants under one URL, judged on ClickBank sales. Swap the page behind a funnel step without changing the hop link or re-approving the Pitch Flow.
- Per-affiliate reports: revenue, AOV, refunds and EPC for each affiliate on your orders.
- Automations that start on a ClickBank postback, so a refund or a cancelled rebill can trigger the next step.
Setup takes your account nickname and the INS secret key. The ClickBank integration page lists every event, and the ClickBank funnel tutorial walks through it.
Promoting ClickBank offers as an affiliate? That is a different setup. ClickBank's postback sends your commission to ElasticFunnels with the click code in tid, upsells and refunds included, so the sale reaches the ad that bought the click. See the ClickBank affiliate postback.
Is ClickBank worth it for vendors in 2026?
Yes, if your product sells to US buyers through affiliates and you would rather not run payments, refunds and buyer support yourself. It costs a little less per sale than Digistore24, more than JVZoo, and the first-payout rule slows a brand-new account. If you sell on more than one network, the JVZoo vs ClickBank and Digistore24 vs ClickBank comparisons set the numbers side by side.
- Price the front end with the $1 in mind. Below $20, test a higher price or a bundle before you test a new headline.
- Set the descriptor before launch. A buyer who recognizes the charge asks for a refund; one who doesn't calls the bank, and that costs far more.
- Budget for the first payout. Five qualifying sales, each more than two weeks old, means ad spend goes out weeks before the first payment comes in.
- Test the pages, not the order form. The order form is ClickBank's; the presell, the VSL and the upsell pages are where your conversion rate moves.
ClickBank trades a fee and some control for a marketplace of affiliates and a retailer that carries the payment, refunds and support on every sale. For most vendors launching a digital product or a supplement to US buyers, that is still a good trade in 2026, as long as the funnel in front of it is built to convert.
